Personal Stories from Survivers of Cancer

The following website is a nice collectiion of stories from survivors of cancer giving hope to those in doubt as to their chances of having a successful recovery.

www.mysurvivalstory.org

I often mention in my workshops on self-healing that there probably are many more survivors of cancer than we think. In fact, it might even be that many of us have outbreaks of cancer - metastases - without ever being aware of it except for possibly feeling quite "under the weather" at the time before the (undiscovered) metastases again recede: Something like how a flu can break out and then again recede all by itself without any particular medical attention.

After all, every healing is ultimately a self-healing process with the mind as medicine!

Think about it: if you have pneumonia, it isn't the doctor or the antibiotic which ultimately heals you but, rather, your own immune system. If your immune system is too weak, for example, if you have AIDS, then you can swallow all the antibiotics you want, you'll still die from pneumonia. This of course doesn't mean you shouldn't go to the doctor and take medication when you get ill. Medication or surgery are often necessary to help you get well from an illness, because this help from the outside takes care of what your organism can't take care of from the inside. But medication or surgery are never sufficient for recovery. For that your own mind-body must ultimately take the job over at the end.
